The Programmable Submersible Actuator

The Programmable Submersible Actuator (PSA) is a newly patented invention with additional patents pending. Its basic use is to cause inflation when certain criteria are met. These criteria include reaching a depth limit, reaching a time limit, or after being immersed. Users are free to program the time and depth submersion triggers to fit their unique mission and to match their unique physiology. Because all other so-called auto-inflating life vests rely on a dissolvable pill to release the inflation gas, they are subject to mis-fires and premature fires due to the vulnerability of the pill to atmospheric humidity and rain, or wave splashes. The unique hardware and software combination found in the PSA does not allow for an accidental release of gas even in the wettest environment—in heavy wave splashes, or heavy rain. It will, however, fire immediately (when this mode is set) when it becomes immersed is a few centimeters of water. Users of the PSA include:
The recovery of personnel to the surface when they exceed their self-set depth and/or time submersion triggers.
When "auto" mode is set, it will cause inflation upon the first seconds of submersion.
Will protect valuable assets from sinking, such as jet skis, or drones, for example.

Personnel likely to benefit from the use of the actuator include breath hold divers, surfers, kayakers, rescue swimmers, lifeguards, personal watercraft operators, helicopter pilots, special forces, as well as those wanting to protect valuable assest from sinking, such as the users of certain drones and military assets.

The PSA is designed to operate in depths exceeding 100 meters. It may use a variety of CO2 cylinders, which will provide surface flotation values exceeding 200 pounds (88 kilos.)
